John Wibrow is a Masters prepared counsellor with a particular interest in tinnitus management. John has had tinnitus since 1994 and was instrumental in obtaining government funding for the establishment of the first tinnitus clinic in Australia managed by Tinnitus SA. John is co-founder of the Tinnitus Advisory Group (TAG) and was it’s President for 8 years. John is also co-author of the widely acclaimed instructional video “Tinnitus - Let’s be Positive”.

 

John has a strong focus on the management of grief and loss associated with tinnitus distress and works closely with other specialists in tinnitus management such as those involved in hearing assessment, cognitive behavioural therapy and Tinnitus Retraining Therapy (TRT).

 

John uses his counselling skills and personal experience gained from his own journey with tinnitus, to assist clients to identify and manage associated feelings of grief, loss and disenfranchisement that often accompany the tinnitus experience, particularly in the early stages following tinnitus onset.

 

John is also uniquely placed to combine his knowledge of tinnitus, counselling practice, and natural health philosophy and practice to deliver holistic, safe and effective strategies which can contribute to tinnitus management within a holistic framework.
